My True Love

The food out here is so absurdly delicious, words really can’t describe it, but I’ll try my best! The ingredients are simple but flavorful. The fruits are sweeter, the lettuce is crisper (I know that’s not a word, but it should be). When you order a salad they don’t complicate things with all those fancy salad dressings, it’s oil and vinegar and oh so tasty. When ordering wine, the house wine is always superb, there’s no need to look at the wine list. I’m not even a dessert person, but even their pastries and ice creams are immaculate. Last week I had by far the greatest croissant I’ve ever tasted in my life. Imagine a soft warm croissant fresh out of the oven covered with a thin layer of sweet glaze (like a glazed donut). It literally melted in my mouth. Oh and their pastas: ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! For those of you who have been out to eat with me, I’m still slapping waiters’ hands when they try to take my plate even though I have one bite left. I think it’s safe to say I have found my true love in Barcelona!

Hey Anonymous! Traveling & eating! Such a dream come true! Surprisingly I haven't encountered any really wierd foods. Its kind of funny though because the types of foods they eat for breakfast lunch & dinner are dif from us. Once I was making eggs for breakfast & Marta was like "ur eating eggs @ this time?" They usually have spanish omelettes (they call them tortillas) for lunch or dinner. I made pancakes for the fam on Sun & it was impossible to find syrup anywhere (they don't need it out here cuz they only eat crepes) A typical breakfast consists of crossaints, toast, yogurt or cereal. Lunch (which they don't have until 2pm) is the heaviest meal of the day & dinner is relatively light (usually salads)..I'll be sure to let ya'll know if I encounter any wierd foods…Peace
